The business unit Water & Agri provides innovative solutions within the agricultural domain to NGO’s and agribusinesses. We develop integrated information services and provide implementation consultancy. By doing so, we ensure we meet user requirements, high social impact and a financially sustainable business case. There is a large about of data available on rural areas: from sensor data to satellite images and open data sources. New techniques within data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning can use these fasts amount of data.

We believe the integration different data sources is essential to create the best information services. With our software systems and domain knowledge we tackle this challenge. Monitoring sustainable water use

Sustainable water usage is becoming increasingly more relevant worldwide. Numerous measures are being taking, but it’s effectiveness is often unknown. We conduct specialized analysis to accurately determine the water usage on a regional scale. We combine satellite observations, hydrodynamic modelling and trend analysis to provide insights. We visualize water usage for end-users in dashboards, reports and web applications.

Irrigation advice for individual farmers

Many farmers do not yet have access to reliable irrigation advice. With the help of geodata, weather data and sensor technology we provide irrigation advice to individual farmers. This improves crop yield and contributes to sustainable agriculture.

Financial risk assessment for droughts and flood

In the Sat4Rice project we assist smallholder farmers in producing rice more efficiently and in a more sustainable manner. We developed a geo-information service that combines satellite data, geodata and fielddata that enables farmers to take better decisions and Loc Troi Group more advanced monitoring and resource planning.
